Every year MassRecycle recognizes a select group of individuals, businesses, municipalities and organizations for their leadership and innovation in promoting recycling and waste reduction by presenting them with the “Green Binnie’ Recycling Award. Winners are selected through a peer review process and Taranta was selected among all the nominees because of the significant contribution made to increase recycling and reducing waste. We are proud to received this award as it motivates us to continuing with our Ecofriendly efforts.

Chefs of Chefs Award – Food and Wine Week at The Woodlands TX

I am happy to receive the Chefs of Chefs Award last saturday at the Food and Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & South American Chef Showcase where 50 restaurants and 30 visiting chefs from around the world most featuring organic, sustainable & local foods competed for the Waterford Crystal Chef of Chefs award! The night closed with a live auction benefiting the Green Building Council of Houston. I presented our Yucca Gnocchi paired with a Haras El Pirque Caracter, Cabernet Sauvignon. http://www.wineandfoodweek.com/

Mayor Menino awarded Chef Jose Duarte for his efforts on greening his restaurant and his leadership within the industry. Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Second Annual Green Business Awards was given to businesses located in the City of Boston that demonstrated extraordinary performance related to sustainable environmental, practices, such as water conservation, solid waste reduction, the promotion of alternative transit, energy conservation and on-site renewable energy production.
